State Parks, Parks & Zoos

Fall Creek Falls State Park
Located just 15 minutes from Saddlebrook River Estates, Fall Creek Falls State Park was named one of the five best state parks in the Southeast by Southern Living magazine. The park is the largest state park in Tennessee and home to the highest waterfall east of the Rockies. There are no park entrance fees for Saddlebrook River Estates owners.

Cumberland Mountain State Park
Located in Cookeville, Cumberland Mountain State Park is a 1,720 acre wooded park centered on Cumberland Mountain at an elevation of 2,000 feet.

Rock Island State Park
Just off of U.S. Highway 70, Rock Island State Park is located at the confluence of the Collins and Caney Fork Rivers and draws visitors to its Great Falls with an imposing limestone gorge.

South Cumberland Recreation Area
Located near Monteagle, South Cumberland Recreation Area is composed of over 12,400 acres in seven separate areas, five of which are natural areas, with spectacular vistas, waterfalls, and many miles of hiking and backpacking trails.

Harrison Bay State Park
Located off of State Highway 58, Harrison Bay State Park is a water recreation delight with one of the most complete marinas on any of the TVA lakes and areas for camping, including waterfront sites.

Booker T. Washington State Park
Located in Chattanooga, Booker T. Washington State Park, is on the shores of the Chickamauga Reservoir and provides boating, fishing, a swimming pool, picnic area and a year-round group lodge.

Fall Creek Falls
Fall Creek Falls State Park offers a variety of day-use trails. Providing access to some of the park’s loveliest areas, the trails pass into virgin woods, over fast flowing streams, and around awesome gorges and waterfalls. The day-use trails are designed to accommodate recreational and educational activities including fitness walking, leisure walking and easy hiking, or exploring the Parks’ geological features and forest life typical of the Cumberland Plateau.

Fishing
Center Hill Lake is a 64 mile long reservoir with over 400 miles of shoreline and provides some of Tennessee’s best fishing, boating and water skiing. Numerous lakes and rivers throughout the region make the area an angler’s paradise.

Rafting
The Ocoee River offers whitewater rafting for all skill levels including an Olympic course, as well as tubing, kayaking, and riverside camping.

Game Hunting
Game hunting in Tennessee is a hunter’s dream plentiful in bear, deer, duck, quail, turkey, and other prey.

Fly tandem with a certified instructor and enjoy a breathtaking view of Lookout Mountain.

NASCAR fans can cheer on their favorite drivers in Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Camping World Truck Series racing at venues in Bristol, Nashville, and Memphis, and there’s good old Saturday night dirt track racing in Crossville, Baxter, and Kingston.

Football
Enjoy professional football with the Titans in Nashville and college football with the University of Tennessee’s Volunteers in Knoxville. The University of Tennessee Football Hall of Fame is located on the UT campus.

Basketball
The University of Tennessee has both men’s and women’s teams, and Knoxville is the site of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

Baseball
The Class-AA Chattanooga Lookouts, a Cincinnati Reds affiliate, make their home at BellSouth Park in Chattanooga and the Tennessee Smokies, affiliated with the St. Louis Cardinals, are in Sevierville.

Hockey
The Knoxville Ice Bears debuted in the 2002-2003 season and played 29 home games at the Civic Coliseum.

Spencer, Sparta and McMinnville are convenient neighboring sources for groceries and local conveniences. Chattanooga, an hour’s drive from Saddlebrook River Estates, features Hamilton Place, Tennessee’s largest shopping mall.
